Legacy Records: A Ken Fulk masterpiece

Located in New York’s Hudson Yards neighborhood Legacy Records is a restaurant, cafe and lobby bar designed by Ken Fulk. Each space has a unique and elegant sophistication, combining style references spanning generations with a curated collection of large-scale contemporary art.

Whilst complimenting one another, each room has its own flavor for you to experience. Upon entry to Legacy Records, you’ll find an all-day coffee bar (its espresso maker boasts custom-made walnut and brass hardware) which will also serve baked goods. Next, you happen upon a beautifully wood-panelled bar, and beyond that are banquettes and little dining-space cloisters that house the aforementioned leather tables.

Behind the burnt-orange bar with its marble-top, you’ll find an expansive mural of a party scene which depicts a crowd of good timers dancing, toasting, and making music.

These are all spaces to experiences.

It’s clear that music has been a big inspiration behind this project since day one. This musical celebration can also be traced in some of the art the decorates the space, like Mischa Richter’s famous portrait of Amy Winehouse.
